Removal & Application of Your Vinyl Graphics
A few things that you may require, to help make the job easier !
Using a hair dryer, will soften the adhesive on your old graphics enough to be able to pull off the vinyl. It's not always an easy job as it can either come off in long pieces or if you're really unlucky, little fiddly bits !
Once it's all off, you'll need to clean up the area and remove any sticky residue. We normally use a spirit to clean the area. Avoid an oil based solvent as it can leave a greasy surface.
You may still be able to see a ghosting effect on the surface where the old decals have been over the years. A suitable boat cutting paste may polish it off a little.
Once the area is clean & free of adhesive residue, you're ready for your new decals.....DO NOT POLISH OR WAX THE AREA.....the new graphics will not stick to the boat !

Applying Your New Decals
* When applying your new graphics, its important to have all the tools that you need close to hand.
* If you're applying large pieces or long lengths, an extra pair of hands can be an advantage. * Measuring and marking the area before application with a soft pencil can be a help. * You can apply the graphics wet or dry, but fixing decals in place first by using a top hinge can sometimes help. * If applying wet, lightly spray the hull with a mild soapy water, remove the waxy rear carrier paper as you go & apply the graphics. * Push out all the air & water from the middle (just like wallpapering) & smooth out any noticeable creases. * Once the top application paper on the graphics is nearly dry, carefully remove. Any bubbles can be pricked with a needle. * Try not to apply graphics on a windy day as they'll be flapping around & you may get in a mess with them ! * Avoid applying them on a freezing cold day as the vinyl becomes hard and a little bit brittle. Also, freezing conditions will not allow the water to dry if using the wet application method. * Equally, try not to apply them in scorching hot temperatures, as the vinyl may stretch and any air & water is hard to remove, causing bubbles in the graphics.
